VITRIFIED PRODUCTS – STELLO®
We manufacture vitrified grinding wheels, cup wheels, segments, terrazzo blocks etc.
The range is from 25mm (1 inch) to 600mm (24 inch) diameter; cup wheels of all shapes and sizes, segments of all shapes and sizes, terrazzo bricks of various sizes and much more.
THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Raw materials are mixed and molded into required shapes and sizes by means of hydraulic presses.
The delicate molded items are put in drying oven for a period of time so that they harden for ease of handling.
After hardening process the items are loaded onto Kiln trolleys.
The Kiln now starts its firing cycle – from room temperature to 1300° C and back to room temperature over a period of several days.
Note: Steel melts at 1000° C.
After completion of the firing cycle the items are taken to the dressing department for dressing by various machines.
Bushing of items, where required, is the next step.
Quality control completes the manufacturing process.
The approved items are transferred to the sales department.
